Closing Time

Do people even follow blogs anymore? If anyone still follows this one, I apologize for not posting anything recently. I've been busy. In fact, that's what this post is about. You see, this was a blog served as a place for a young, single, college girl to write about her fantastic (and some not-so-fantastic) dates. And, well, things have changed. I am no longer single, or a college student, though I'm proud to say I still consider myself to be young. :)

If you haven't guessed already, my reason for this wrap-up post is this. I got married! The days of painful first dates are over! Hallelujah!

And this is how it happened.

So, there was supposed to be a post about a tall redhead that my friend set me up with. It was to tell you about our few dates, and my final disappointment. (Basically I took him on a nice date, only to find out at the end of it, that he wasn't interested.) So after the aforementioned date, I went home, sulked a bit, then downloaded the Tinder app. *cringe* Yes, I realize now how hypocritical my previous Tinder post is.

Anyway, I entered the Tinder world. I won't say much about it, just that it was because of Tinder that I met my husband.

(Thank you tall redhead for NOT liking me back!) Maybe I should send him a thank you card... (I just finished a huge pile of them from the wedding. Heck, why not?!) Haha. Joking. I'm not doing that. I don't think his wife would appreciate it anyway.

Back to tinder. We (future husband and I) met at a little Italian place after I finished work. We talked for a couple of hours. I remember thinking he was an interesting person (He told me ALL about his hobbies), and I also remember thinking it was cute that he was so nervous. Hehe. His pain = my pleasure.

Second date, flying. Eh. I wasn't so sure about him. Third date. He intrigued me. Fourth. "I think he's growing on me."

Fast forward to the good stuff, after a couple of breaks (OH boy, was I still figuring myself out), we decided to get married.

One of these in between hiccups taught me to not let go of a good thing once I had it. And he was it. I remember thinking one night, after being stood up by another man, "HE (then-future-husband) would never do this to me." And that settled it. I stopped looking. I knew then that what I had was gold, and I was just wasting my time elsewhere. So, to the man who stood me up, thank you for teaching me that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Sometimes it seems greener because it's fake. I learned that the grass is green where you water it.

Well folks it's been fun, and I hope you've enjoyed following along this little journey of mine. I hope you don't mind if I bow out now, I've got some grass that needs watering. ;)
